Obeo Designer 6.1 is out: instant collaboration

Obeo is proud to announce the public release of Obeo Designer 6.1, the new version of its modeling workbench for complex systems. It brings many improvements, in particular the collaborative mode. Some news features are also introduced with for example an attractive HTML export and the constraints visualization with the bracket edge style. An evaluation version is freely downloadable from http://www.obeodesigner.com.

A new release of Obeo Designer, the workbench to easily create your own graphical representations fit to your business domain, is now available. The version 6.1 strengthens the existing features, most notably its collaborative mode that is now faster and more responsive.

Collaborate intuitively, instantaneously

Thanks to the feedback of the users, our collaborative mode is now deployed by several industrials. The chosen approach tackles inherent problems of collaboration based on a revision control system. With Obeo Designer, your teams will work in a flexible manner with the following benefits:

• Fine grained lock mechanism for editing elements
• Automatic locking of modified elements
• No manual merge: no more endless synchronization step
• Real-time updates for all users

Export your models into HTML + Javascript pages

One more new feature that Obeo Designer 6.1 brings is the HTML export. You can now automatically export your models along with their associated representations into an HTML browsable site allowing for example to ease the exchanges with non-technical colleagues.

Visualize your constraints with the bracket edge style

System Engineers meet a whole host of requirements, especially to specify timing constraints. Obeo Designer now proposes the Bracket Edge Style to add dimensions on your sequence diagrams or your own custom representations.

• An administration console is now available to manage collaborative mode
• On a sequence diagram, you can now choose to display a fixed lifeline header
• The tab-bar can be customized to execute specific contextual actions
